"...And the Bride wore white..."
(Joel 2:15-19; Matthew 25:1-13; Revelation 19:7-9)
Why do we expect the Joel prophecy to be fulfilled when we have not yet BEGUN to fulfill its conditions? We so often extract the "and in the last days, the Spirit will be poured out on all flesh. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions and your old men will dream dreams..." part. But do you remember the conditions for that promise? Has this generation even BEGUN to be as desperate as this prophecy says we will be? Are we, as a whole, fasting and weeping and mourning for it? Are our priests weeping between porch and altar? Have we blown the trumpet in our churches? Our homes? Our schools? The nations? Have we sanctified fasts and called together solemn assemblies? Has the bride gone forth out of her closet ready to meet the Bridegroom, dressed in WHITE? DO WE HAVE A DESIRE AND LONGING SO DEEP IN OUR SPIRITS FOR THIS GOD-MAN TO RETURN THAT IT CONTINUALLY EATS US UP INSIDE, DAY AND NIGHT RUINING US FOR ANYTHING LESS?!
And tell me this, why do we expect God to pour out his Spirit upon a generation who isn't fulfilling the conditions of the promise? Why would God even consider giving His Beautiful Son to a Bride not lovesick with passion and longing for Him? Why would He even THINK about giving His ONLY Son to a Bride who's not so wounded by the pain of holy grippings for Him that she is continually fasting and weeping and mourning for His return, consecrating solemn assemblies, sanctifying fasts, and blowing the trumpet in Zion, preparing Herself and wearing her wedding dress. And tell me this, why would God send His only Son, with fire in His eyes, to a Bride who is lukewarm and complacent...a Bride who's not even looking for Him. I tell you this, HE WON'T! And when the Son of Man returns to His Bride, SHE WILL BE SCANNING THE SKIES FOR HIS HIM, FASTING, WEEPING, GROANING, & MOURNING FOR HIS RETURN! SHE WILL BE READY AT THE MIDNIGHT HOUR WITH OIL BURNING BRIGHTLY IN HER LAMP AWAITING HIS RETURN BECAUSE SHE WAS PREPARED WHEN OTHERS WEREN'T!! SHE WILL BE DESPERATELY, ZEALOUSLY LONGING FOR HIM, RUINED FOR HIM, LOVESICK and DESPERATE WILL BE UNDERSTATEMENTS CONCERNING THE DESIRE IN THIS ONE'S HEART.
"And the Spirit and the Bride say "COME""
"...For the marriage of the Lamb has come and His Bride hath made herself ready..."
"...And the Bride wore white..."
